Kirsten Starkey

Kirsten joined Murdoch Clarke in February 2026, bringing with her 15 years’ experience at a respected Hobart firm. Admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia in 2010, she practises exclusively in Family Law.

Kirsten regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and advises clients across all areas of Family Law, including property settlements, spousal maintenance, parenting disputes, child support, financial agreements, and divorce applications.

Kirsten understands that family law matters are both legally complex and deeply personal. She provides practical advice and works closely with her clients to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively — whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when required.

Kirsten has also made a significant contribution to the profession through her longstanding involvement in professional committees. She served on the Pro Bono Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania from 2011 to April 2025, including as Chair from 2024 to 2025. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Tasmania Committee, serving as Treasurer (2016–2021) and currently as Deputy Chair (South). Earlier in her career, she was also a member of the Tasmania Young Lawyers Committee.
